What To Expect

Jesus Christ accepts you just as you are – and so do we.  At Sikeston First, we offer a friendly, “come as you are” atmosphere that creates an extraordinary opportunity to worship and know Christ in a personal way.  Our services feature high energy contemporary music, meaningful worship, and timely, relevant messages taught from the Word of God that will be applicable for your every day living.

Do you have childcare?

We provide ministry to children during all three of our Sunday and Wednesday Services.  At the 9:30am Sunday School and 10:30am Worship Service, we provide a staffed nursery (0-24 months), preschool classes (2yrs old – Kindergarten), and elementary aged activities (1st – 6th grade).  At the 6:00pm service and Wednesday night Adult Bible Study, nursery is provided for children 0-36 months.

Who’s taking care of my children?

All of our children’s ministry and student ministry volunteers are specifically recruiting by our leadership and must go through an application process that includes a background check before they begin their ministry.  Our ministry teams are full of committed, faithful, and loving team members who are serving because they want to make an eternal investment in the life of your child.

What should I wear?

Whatever makes you comfortable.  Scripture encourages us to give our best to God, but we also understand that you may be coming straight from work, were rushed getting out of the house, or don’t have your favorite outfit cleaned.  No matter what you wear, you can be sure that others will be dressed similarly – as we have people attending our services from all over the globe with all different styles.

What kind of music will I hear?

We love to sing and worship God!  Scripture says to make a joyful noise before the Lord.  We worship to contemporary worship songs that you may hear on Christian radio or on your friends iPod.  You can expect to see and hear a full worship band with drums, guitars, and more.  We are less concerned about the style of music and more concerned about expressing our love and gratitude towards God.

How long will service last?

Our service lengths can vary from week to week, but generally they last about 80-90 minutes.

Do you allow the “gifts of the Spirit” to operate in your services?

We are proud of our Pentecostal heritage and we welcome the Holy Spirit to move on our people each week.
