In many ways John McHaffie is like your typical pastor…
John was born and raised right here in Missouri. He attended Central Bible College where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible in 1996.
John and his wife Susan have five children; Joshua, Timothy, Emily, Tyler & Caleb. Susan has been very involved in various ministries of previous churches; leading the Kids program, women’s ministry, girls ministry and she has been faithful to lead the kids’ Christmas musical on a yearly basis.
John enjoys reading and playing guitar and continues to play for fun, and for the occasional worship service.
But, there are many things that make Pastor John different…
John believes that while the American church may have lost much of its relevance in today’s society, it still has much to offer. In particular, John points to the way in which church draws people together of different generations; where people are vulnerable with one another when they eat together and sing together; and where stories are shared – stories of our fathers in the faith, as well as our own stories as we journey in life together.
John believes in the Pentecostal tradition and prays that people will receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
In the books of Acts we witness a great move of the Holy Spirit that changed and transformed lives to the point of thousands coming to an understanding of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Pastor John’s hope would be that you become a follower of Jesus and desire to live for him on a daily basis.
Pastor John says, “He is a nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody that can save anybody.”
