Missions
 |
We believe God has called
Sikeston First to be a part of the most awesome assignment ever given to mankind the "Great Commission" given by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: |
|
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matthew 28: 19 and 20 (NLT). |
One of the ways we intend to help fulfill this Great Commission throughout the world is through our missions programs here at
Sikeston First.
The purpose of our Missions
Department is to act in a supportive way to our missionaries, both at home and on the foreign missions field by meeting the following objectives:
Informational Objective
Actively seek methods to increase the awareness of the missions programs at
Sikeston First and the missions programs of the General Council of the Assemblies of God.
Inspirational Objective
Actively seek to inspire the congregation by communicating the testimonies, sacrifices, and answered prayer and financial requests of the missionaries we support, thereby developing a greater burden and interest in missions.
Involvement Objective
Actively seek methods to increase participation of both individuals and the different church departments in financial and prayer support of our home and foreign missionaries.
